Literature Text

It's the foot that fits just right,
The smell of rain on a summer's day,
A blessed spider on the bed,
On the window sill
And a kiss, from me to you
Trapped behind mirrors of gold and glitter
An ill desired truth
To reach, and reach, and reach...
But never grasp

In a thousand years,
The story will remain the same,
From fairy tale to modern day
There's something about these fleeting feelings
Never dying, nor growing
An eternal ignorance
From generation to generation we bless
The same ideals of longing, of infatuation,
Feigning true love

And hey, is that so bad?
Cause babe, I know I've only seen your face
In my dreams,
But if there's ever been a such thing as
True love, pure love,
Love at first sight,
Babe, it's you.

I'd float away on a river,
Smash the mirrors that blind the strongest man,
Deceiving the devil, God, and even myself
To truly see your eyes
Looking into mine
Just to hear you say, just once,
You're truly, truly beautiful
And if there's a such thing as true love,
Babe, it's with you.

And even then, it's fleeting,
Like all those fairy tales falling to place,
We'll grow up, graduate, and soon
You'll be an accomplished person
And I'll still be there,
Staring out the window, evermore
For my sailor to come home,
So it would always be,
The love of two youngins
In the end, let them all see
If there's a such thing as true love,
Babe, it'll never be once
I hate this character limit on titles. Ideally, I would call this "...Babe it's with you!" But whatever! Make do!
I am not in love, I just was thinking about what it would be like to be in love.
