Literature Text

I've been on a roll,
Taking drink after drink
The inspiration long faded turns to grey,
To bright, untouchable colors I fear to say outloud
I can't seem to stay away
Can't seem to stop,
So I make myself unreachable,
Taking drink after drink,
Make a bad joke so every man, woman, and child
Throws bricks at the stage.
Not bad, I'd say
But what would I know,
Say that a lot, too.
Can't stop drinking,
Behind the wheel,
Because if I do I fear I'll miss you,
Miss overconfidence where it was unwarranted
Because only breaking my mind will put it back together
And I can laugh my sorrow and pain overnight,
But they always catch up to me by dawn
I've been on a roll.
I hate my writing so much, regardless of how many people tell me it's good.
